We are pleased that the Lord has allowed CCS to partner with the music faculty of Piedmont Baptist College in Winston-Salem to offer an excellent band program to our students. Our goal is to train our students in conservative and Biblical music philosophy, method, and style, from a solidly Christ-centered perspective. We teach children how to offer music back to the Lord in praise and worship.

Research has demonstrated that music is a very valuable element in a child’s education. The benefits include an increased sense of responsibility, mental discipline, teamwork, and self-esteem. It produces a lifelong appreciation for and enjoyment of music, and an ability to serve the Lord in this way for many years to come.

The study of music also affects academic performance. A recent study showed that band students attend college at a rate twice the national average. They also achieve an average of 64 points higher on SAT college entrance scores.

Band meets for 30 - 45 minutes twice every week for a charge of only $20 per month ($2.50 per lesson avg.). Our band students perform publicly four times during the school year, and are encouraged to use their developing musical gifts for the Lord in their local churches. Band is one more proof that our desire at CCS is to offer many opportunities for our students to develop into well-rounded Christian young men and young ladies.
