ADVANCED ACADEMIC OPTIONS

Honors Classes, Advanced Placement, Accelerated Math Track
and College Dual Enrollment Programs

We are thankful that CCS in King enjoys a reputation of academic excellence. Our students score well on annual achievement tests – so well that we publish our results on this website for all to see. And our college bound students do very well in their post high school endeavors. In addition to an excellent standard academic program, CCS also offers advanced academic options that challenge capable students even more and prepare our graduates to a greater degree. This advanced track of academic offerings will reflect exceptionally well on a students high school transcript and will greatly enhance a CCS student’s preparation for post high school academic challenges.

Summary: CCS strives to provide a vigorous academic program that will challenge the most academically capable student. All courses described above are designed to develop our college bound students to their highest level of academic ability while in high school.

Parents and students should understand that self-motivation and self-starting independence are needed to achieve success in classes at this level. Students must have an attitude that is conducive to and desirous of learning. Students must want to succeed in an honors class strongly enough to stay on top of their own requirements, meet project deadlines, do homework completely and on time, keep absenteeism low, and not complain about the work load. Only students who have this desire should take honors or other advanced classes at CCS. (See parent-student handbook for further details.)

Advanced Academic Options at CCS prove once again that our goal at CCS is excellence, for God’s glory and the benefit of our students.
